CRKD™ and Gibson® Get Ready to Rock: Announcing Shipping of the Les Paul® Guitar Controller Range

Livermore, CA – August 01, 2025 – CRKD™ the premium collectible gaming brand announced today that the much-anticipated CRKD Gibson Les Paul® Guitar Controller range, has begun shipping globally to customers, starting with the Multi-Platform Black Tribal Encore Edition and Blueberry Burst PRO Edition controllers.

Announced in February this year, the announcement of a new, premium music controller set the rhythm music gaming community ablaze with excitement, the result of a landmark collaboration with Gibson, the world’s most iconic guitar brand, designed and engineered by many of the original RedOctane team, behind the legendary Guitar Hero™ game and controllers. 

The new Les Paul® Guitar Controller range has been designed to redefine the music game controller for modern gamers, honoring the past but forging a new path for the future via a host of innovative features, groundbreaking technology, seamless connectivity, and impressive customization options.

At the heart of this is CRKD’s proprietary (patent pending) Hall Effect strum bar technology, purpose-built for guitar controllers. It’s a breakthrough design that blends speed, precision, and durability, delivering a strum experience that simply wasn’t possible with older mechanical or reed switch systems. Engineered from the ground up for rhythm gaming, it sets a new benchmark for what players should expect from modern guitar-based hardware.

The PRO Edition guitar controller features mechanical fret buttons and a Hall Effect strum bar with haptic feedback, delivering enhanced precision and immersive feel. The Encore Edition comes equipped with standard fret buttons and a Hall Effect strum bar featuring a classic mechanical click. Both editions allow players to adjust the strum bar’s actuation point, offering a new level of customizable control for every play style.

The multi-platform guitar controllers are compatible with PC, PC handhelds, Nintendo® Switch™ 1 | 2, and Android® devices, including smart TVs, tablets, and mobile devices. With Legacy Mode, gamers can use their controller with many classic Guitar Hero™ and Rock Band™ titles on their legacy PlayStation® consoles*. In addition, CRKD announced in May of this year, that the unique KEYJAM™ Mode (Mode 9) will be included on the multi-platform controllers, vastly expanding hardware and software compatibility by mapping the controller as a keyboard and mouse. With KEYJAM Mode, gamers can now play Fortnite® Festival across more platforms including Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation®4, and PlayStation®5

Each guitar controller features three distinct modes of connectivity. Wired Mode features ultra-low latency with rapid polling technology, while 2.4GHz Wireless Mode provides a high-speed wireless connection via the included dongle with rapid polling technology for precision performance. Lastly, Bluetooth® Mode provides a convenient way to connect to mobile or Smart devices.

The multi-platform guitar controllers feature a unique eight-button Navigation Hub, for swift menu navigation. At its center, a left analog stick allows gamers to navigate menus and options with ease, while an authentic Guitar Knob houses a second right analog stick. Combined with the Hall-Effect Whammy Bar, they offer superior consistency, accuracy, and long-lasting performance. Positioned discreetly on the back of the headstock, a fully flat D-Pad provides effortless access for additional inputs and navigation. Finally, the Platform Switch and Mode Dial allow for instant switching between platforms, input presets, games, and difficulty modes with a simple turn or click. 

RGB Show Mode provides reactive lighting that enhances dynamic gameplay, and CRKD Tilt is also included, allowing gamers to activate Star Power with a flick of the guitar. Players can easily adjust settings via CTRL in the CRKD App unlocking a range of customization options, including button remapping, strum bar sensitivity adjustments, RGB fret neck settings, tilt sensor activation angle, firmware updates, and more. Users can also tap their mobile device to discover their product number with the ability to register their hardware, adding it to their collection of CRKD products.
