OpenAI to Come Up With AI Music Generation Tool: Reports

OpenAI, an artificial intelligence platform, is likely to introduce the generation of music through its setup in a generative music tool, reveals a report by The Information. Through this tool, users would be able to generate music from text (script) and audio prompts/commands.

Reports have also surfaced that it would allow users to add original soundtracks or instrumental accompaniments to clips.

Multi-vocal track generation and AI-assisted mixing are said to be the expected features of this tool.

Though reports have revealed this development, the OpenAI platform has not responded to any such update on its setup like ChatGPT or the video generation tool Sora.

In 2020, OpenAI introduced Jukebox, a music generation tool that enabled users to generate AI music in various genres but couldn’t actively maintain it for a longer period.

The reports have further revealed that prestigious Juilliard School students are involved in this project, helping to train the AI model.

However, a huge scale of concerns also arises — how AI music would meet up with copyright, ethics, creativity, and ownership.

Time will tell how this would be governed. What would happen to human musical creativity? Would the control over the AI tune realm be fairly kept, or would AI lead to the end of human creativity?
