Amid Gaza Ceasefire Deal, Hamas Delegation to Meet Egyptian & Qatari Officials on Oct 20
To clear the air on the Gaza ceasefire deal, a delegation from Hamas will meet Qatari and Egyptian officials in Cairo on Monday, says a negotiation source as reported by Agence France-Presse.
As per reports, the delegation will be headed by Hamas official Khalil al-Hayya, who is likely to raise the issue of dozens of airstrikes killing innocents in the Gaza Strip.
This development comes as the Israeli military hit several targets across Gaza, accusing Hamas of killing its soldiers and labeling it a ‘violation of the truce.’
Meanwhile, Hamas has denied the violation and attacks, accusing Israel of breaking the ceasefire deal.
Now, all eyes are on the meeting, as Qatar and Egypt have played a key role in indirect mediation talks between Israel and Hamas.
The delegation is also likely to meet officials to discuss an upcoming intra-Palestinian dialogue to unify the factions in Palestine.
