Is Imran Khan Dead | Amid Release Demand, Afghani Media Outlet Reports Imran Khan Killed in Prison gripping Tensions in Pakistan

Amid the growing demand for the release of Imran Khan by party supporters, a post by an Afghani media outlet has stirred chaos and tensions, stating the mysterious killing of former Prime Minister Imran Khan in prison.

The claims have been made by an Afghani media outlet citing credible inputs of the mysterious killing of Imran Khan in military custody. The media outlet has further suggested that the body has been removed from Adiala Jail.

However, Afghanistan Times is the only media outlet citing the killing of the ex–Prime Minister Imran Khan in Adiala Jail, but no credible global media bodies have made any confirmation, leaving the reports unverified.

What the Media Outlet Exactly Wrote?

It wrote, “A credible source from Pakistan has confirmed to Afghanistan Times that PTI Chairman Imran Khan has allegedly been mysteriously killed, and his body has been moved out of the prison.”

As yet, there is no evidence and no confirmation. The party supporters, along with Imran Khan’s sisters, demonstrated outside Adiala Jail demanding access to the jailed leader. Though the police blocked the checkpoints, the protestors marched toward the prison.

Banana Republic of Pakistan: Military-Backed Court Sentences 166 Members of Imran Khan’s PTI to 10-Year Jail Term

Last week, the sisters of Imran Khan (Aleema, Uzma, and Noreen) were detained after being denied permission to meet their brother — heightening concerns of isolation, as stated by the Express Tribune.

Imran Khan, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan who faced an ouster and was incarcerated on charges ranging from corruption to contempt of court, is now facing a string of cases, which the party supporters and leaders call politically motivated.

Earlier also, a death report was circulated on social media; however, it was debunked.

Allama Raja Nasir Abbas — who holds the position of Deputy Chairman of Tehreek-e-Tahaffuz-e-Ain Pakistan — has warned that the situation will turn grim if the venues are blocked and hinted at a revolution. He said, “If the people come out, you will beg for a meeting with Khan Sahab, but at that time, you will have no option; you will be told to leave.”

27th Constitutional Amendment in Pakistan: Opposition Announces Nationwide Shutdown, Opposition Vows to Empower Asim Munir

Imran Khan was arrested on August 05, 2023, following a string of cases, but everyone knows Pakistan is ruled by a hybrid system where the army has the upper hand.

Let’s make it again clear: Asim Munir, who is waiting for the notification of the extension of his tenure, has muzzled the political puppets to secure lifetime immunity from arrest and prosecution, and thus the puppets voted in Parliament to empower the Army Chief with new powers, paving the way toward autocracy.

Asim is fearing the possible return of Imran Khan, who will prosecute the Army Chief and others; thus he demanded lifetime immunity from prosecution and arrests, says Imran Riaz Khan — a renowned and popular journalist of Pakistan who has left the country after receiving death threats.

Even the renowned judges of the Supreme Court — Justice Syed Mansoor Shah, Justice Athar Minallah, and a few other top judges — have resigned, citing the establishment of a Constitutional Court with top powers, undermining the Supreme Court and leaving it to decide only traffic and tax-related cases.

As per reports, if Munir gets the notification, which is likely, he is expected to introduce Pakistan to a Presidential rule, however, which Munir has ruled out.

As of now, Pakistan is grappling with hard economic and political situations, leading to a breakdown of patience among the people, and unrest is likely to be expected in the near future.
