Jammu Police Nab Absconding Thar Driver Mannan Anand | Arrested in Connection with Attempted Murder Case

The Jammu Police have apprehended Mannan Anand, the driver of a Mahindra Thar involved in an attempted murder case in Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.

Anand, who was absconding, was arrested by the Gandhi Nagar Police Station team. The FIR, registered under number 163/2025, invoked sections 281 (rash driving), 125(a) (endangering life), and 109 (attempt to murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

According to eyewitnesses and CCTV footage, the incident occurred when the Thar, driven by Anand, collided with a scooty near Green Belt Park, Gandhi Nagar.

The driver allegedly reversed the vehicle and deliberately hit the victim again, causing severe injuries.

The victim, identified as Kamal Dutt, a 68-year-old resident of Gandhi Nagar, is currently undergoing treatment at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC) Jammu, where his condition remains critical due to head injuries
