Ahead of Second Phase of Bihar Elections, India-Nepal Border Sealed for 72 Hours

Ahead of the second phase of the Bihar elections, authorities have closed the India-Nepal border for 72 hours. The closure will be in effect from Saturday onwards.

As the elections in Bihar are scheduled to take place on November 11, 2025, the border has been sealed from a security point of view, said Sanjay Kumar Pokhrel, Assistant District Election Officer. He added that this has become a security routine for both India and Nepal, and during sensitive periods, security personnel from both countries coordinate and cooperate to maintain law and order.
