Unidentified Drones Create Scare at Brandenburg Airport; flights suspended
Following a scare caused by unidentified drones, air traffic was halted for nearly two hours at Brandenburg Airport on Friday evening.
According to news reports, take-offs and landings were suspended from 8:08 p.m. to 9:58 p.m., with several flights diverted to other airports.
Once the area was secured and declared safe, flight operations resumed, and relaxation in night operation restrictions was allowed to help reduce delays.
An airport spokesperson confirmed that the disruption lasted for about two hours and that the risk had been contained.
Similarly, in early October, Munich Airport also faced temporary shutdowns twice after drones were spotted, affecting thousands of passengers.
As the concerns of unidentified drones has created scare in Denmark, Norway and Poland, whereas, Romania and Estonia have accused Russia, which denies the allegations.
